On September 26, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., I’ll be participating in an event unlike anything else I’ve ever been a part of: a horror-themed book fair called the Vampire’s Library. The event will be held at VAMPA, an only-of-its-kind museum in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, devoted to the folklore surrounding vampires, the paranormal, and the occult throughout history. No matter how you feel about things that go bump in the night, VAMPA is well worth a visit. Visitors can expect to see some incredible artifacts and antiques, including hundreds of authentic vampire-killing kits—authentic in that they were kept by European families over the past few hundred years, not that they were used to kill actual vampires. Then again, who knows?

As for the Vampire’s Library, I’ll be joined by a raft of fellow horror authors whose work I admire: Gwendolyn Kiste, A.C. Wise, Nicole M. Wolverton, and Laura Parnum, among others. I’m indebted to my fiends over at Speculation Publications, who are breathing life into this sinister shindig. If you’re anywhere near Bucks County (or the Philadelphia area in general) on September 26, stop by VAMPA to wander the grounds, talk horror with a brood of awesome authors, and pick up a book or two. Of course be sure to leave enough time to tour one of the most fascinating museums you’ll ever see.
